Herbalist/Shopkeeper Job's Short Description:

Herbalists help people with a variety of physical conditions, illnesses and allergies through the holistic use of plants in conjunction with medical knowledge.

What do herbalists do?

Educate consumers in products and herbs, Herbalists treat patients using plant-based remedies and other treatments. Responsibilities typically include:

• Undertaking client consultations to recommend and educate about herbs and to select appropriate herbs, tinctures and supplements
• Gaining information from clients about current and previous symptoms
• Planning and Explaining herb uses and their functions for the ailments
• Providing advice about diet, exercise and lifestyle
• Managing herb stock levels
• Managing online stock levels
• Managing farmer market stock levels
• Executing online social marking
• Advocate of beverages, tincture/supplements, and a healthy, healthy + wise lifestyle. (Consumer facing Sales)
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Understanding of good product presentation and how it reflects on a brand
• Ability to follow directions perfectly
• Punctual, dependable, and consistent
• Able to juggle multiple tasks and willing to do whatever task is needed.
• Available at least 10-15 hours a week. (We will be open from approximately Noon - 5:00 /3 days a week.)
• Experience crafting beverages or experience selling supplements/health wellness a plus.
• Great attitude and able to work quickly and accurately.
• Smiles and a positive disposition. Lifting of boxes will sometimes be necessary.

Key skills

General understanding of storefront operations. Understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as detailed knowledge of herbs and their preparation. They also need:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong business skills and organizational ability
• Resilience and confidence
• Research about Auyerveda and Chinese Medicine

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $9.00 - $15.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Herbalist: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Herbalist Certification (Preferred)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift - Thursday & Friday Noon-5PM and Saturday 10AM - 3PM
• Events - Varies

Work Location: One location
